I have experiencing "blood in stool" for quite awhile now. 2 to 3 years now.I have been ignoring it for so long because I don't have access to better health care here in my Country.
Sometimes it goes off, then comes back and continues for days.
I read about Colon Cancer and I see it's one of its symptoms but apart from "blood in stool" I don't experience other symptoms relating to colon cancer. I'm energetic, healthy looking, no unexplained weight loss, no abdominal pain etc.
I need someone to clear the air for me.
I saved up to see a specialist but that will be in 6 months time.
Please help explain my condition.

Sorry you are going through this. I also had blood in my stool for about 2 years and I did not take care of it. When I got my colonoscopy in august I was diagnosed with stage 3b colon cancer. I had surgery, I just had a port replaced and now heading to chemo. I am telling you all this to say. Do not ignore your symptoms. Try to find facilities that will help with cost if you are not insured. Don’t self diagnose yourself. Go to the professionals so you will know what is wrong
Greygirl, I'm 33. No other symptoms but only blood in stool. Most of the time I poop, inner rectum comes out... like not all of it but less than 1cm comes out of anus. I push it in after pooping.
Hi Goldstein, it is terrible that you do not have access to medical care. The only way to know what is causing this is a colonoscopy. With blood in or around stool could be haemorrhoids but that needs to be confirmed by a doctor. Is there no help for people who do not have adequate medical insurance through no fault of their own. I just hope that something is available to help you get the tests you need.
Thank you for posting on Colon Cancer Connected. First of all I like your Bio intro "Lifestyle diseases is killing people. Let's all wake up and start act." Lifestyle is a determinant in many areas of health and disease.
As far as blood in your stool, you've already gotten a lot of great advice here. Blood in the stool is definitely a sign for many different things that could be going on. You should seek answers and stay ahead of it. I didn't have blood in my stool but did have some abdominal pain and by the time I got it checked out, I was stage 4 colon cancer. Catching things early is key.
I hate to hear you are having difficulties navigating the healthcare. What country are you in? Maybe others can give some advice to help this. But bottom line, there are many tests to help get this sorted out for you. A colonoscopy will go a long way to getting answers as well. Many different reasons could be the cause. You need to get in front of a doctor and get the ball rolling.
We do wish you the very best in getting answers. Let us know the country and someone may be able to help with direction. Please definitely get this done. And let us know what you find out. It can be helpful to others as well.
Thank You,
