For the past couple years I've had occasional burning with diarrhoea it's probably happened about 4 times. Last week I had some blood loss scary I have been to the doctors although my blood test are all normal I have been referred to the hospital . My doctor just gave me a leaflet about cancer never said anything else. I do suffer from occasional constipation. I'm absolutely petrified

Hi Disley,
Thank you for posting on Colon Cancer Connected. I am sorry you are having to deal with the symptoms you are describing. First of all, I would get another doctor if handing you a "a leaflet about cancer" and gave you no discussion about it. That is not good. It says a lot about that doctor.
Second, please know blood as a sign that needs to be diagnosed can be caused by many different things that are not cancer. It is great your blood tests are normal. What you need to get are good answers. That should be your focus. You've got to be your own advocate. Good answers will keep you from being petrified with the situation. Getting answers early is the best thing you can be doing and I see you are all over this. You are doing great in trying to get answers.
Referring you to the hospital I hope would mean you will be getting a colonoscopy. This procedure can go a long way to getting answers. Please don't worry about that being a part of you getting answers. It's normal and can tell you a lot what's going on. I get an annual colonoscopy and annual CT scan as a part my surveillance to catch thing early.
Please focus on getting answers that are about your situation and not just speculation about what's going on. It's key to finding things early and I see you are doing that right now. That's great.
We do wish you all the best. Please let us know what is going to happen with the hospital referral. That can be helpful to others as well. And if you can change doctors, that's probably the way to go.
Thank you and all the best.👍💪🧡

Thanks for your reply it's difficult enough having disabled sons but I've had a phone call today and having colonoscopy within 2 weeks I shall update the outcome and all the very best to you and all the other people on here
Great news🧡.
My colonoscopy prep 2-cents😁 ... I move the timeline up to take the prep at lease an hour to 1 1/2 hours so when it's time to go to procedure facility, it's not a big rush to constantly find a bathroom😲. I will also add some lime Gatorade to the mix as that can help with flavor. Nothing red!!!
I wish you all the best with your sons as well. You're Supermom and we need you on the path to getting well.🤟👍🧡
Thanks for the advice 🙏 much appreciated
