i eat o lot of nuts..they usually help me go.tto thr toilet without my.laxatives .i.have slow bowel transit ..now they.do nothing and i was gettimg after my laxatives sausage type floatimg.stools light brown..hatd to.flush . i usually.eat ready meals but the other day out i ate a sausage roll, piece chicken 2 small pastry quiches and trifle . Then i went to the loo.3 x all.floated..my gp said its just gas..but now despite my.laxatives im.only.passing blobs or a little sausage all.stick.to the pan.. i am.wiping a lot ..and often feels i want to go still but cant..theres no blood..But after yeara of abstinennce i started smoking again no.idea why..I also.have gastritis which is of course now more painful..i dont have abdo pain buut now pass hardly any gas..i feel.full quick but gastritis can do that..I speak to a gastro agaain in August and will.have to tell how stupid ive been ..Im.worried the smoking has caused bowel.cancer or stomach cOn holiday i ate icecream cake pastries nuts everyday only veg was courgette leaks and fish. no ready meals . but very full by pm and bloated..then i did have loads of gas..no.pain eating ..i went to the loo 2 to 3 times a day long sausages or lots small ones ..not much colour light brown..i wasnt smoking then. Im praying my gastro will do another scope last one march ..22 and refer me for a colonoscopy last one 3 years ago .all.ok ..I have lost half stone and have no appetite..i still have ready meals..or just fish leeks and courgettes. and nuts . im also prediabetic ..i.also.tried vaping ..but hated it. I've written to my gp and my bottom is very sore and a pile..i did a home stool elastaise test said normal....She knows ive smoked but now hardly any gas which a gp.said floating stool is gas..i have no gallbladder and cabbage brocolli sprouts etc do give me wind so.dont eat..rarely breakfast ..bread and eggs rarely as they bung me up. my mum died of bowel.can 83 and my nan 76..im.74..neither smoked

Hi basten,

It's good you are seeing your GP this month. Be sure to write down all you have going on so you make sure you cover all the bases. I'm glad you don't have abdominal pain. You said you had a stool test. Was it a FIT test to check for blood and DNA?

I also hate to hear your mum passed from bowel cancer. Did you nan pass from cancer as well? Another thing to think about is if there are any hereditary medical issues in your family? This is good info for the GP as well as it may lead to other testing. All cancer patients should be checked to see if it's hereditary. You can be checked as well just to make sure.

I do wish you well in finding answers. I absolutely agree a colonoscopy would get you those good answers or at least eliminate other concerns. Please let us know what you find out. That type if information can be helpful to others on this site as well.❤️

no FIT test..did a home stool.test tho..elastaise ok calprolprolactin.up since january ..Yes both mum.and nan died bowel cancer .but mum.83 nan.76 im.74..last colonoscopy 3 years ago..speaking gastro.friday will.be honest re smoking after years of abstinence ..no.idea why i.did it..aboit 5 weeks..so.stupid . thankyou..

I hope your gastro can help with getting answers. Things can happen fast and the colonoscopy can be in play to help you. I have to get one annually. Knowing and being able to focus on the problem is key.

Tossing this in ..... You know you shouldn't be smoking. I can hear it in your words. Get a patch or something prescribed. I have seen that be affective. 👍❤️

my fit test was ok. always had constipation due to meds. when i stupidly started smoking after non for years i became extremely constipated . everything i tried didn't work . phoned spoke to doctor who said smoking can cause it so she wrote to gastro. stopped smoking a month ago bowels same need loads laxatives then can sometimes take 3 days then masses of sloppy d..then need go again and lots gas and more d. gastro not interested as fit test ok. colonoscopy 3 years ago all ok. did tell him mum and her mum had bowel cancer..I used to use perestine system but stopped working..told off by bowel man cis didn't use everyday . havent lost weight . no lumps in abdo ..i dont think anyone would give me a DNA as ive become a nuisance and they know have health anxiety since hubby passed then worse when mum passed. who would do a dna anyway to check if im at risk ? even so if i was what can they do. ?

thankyou..yes i know..its caused too many problems ..after years of not .its underatandable my daughter very angry and upset . its affected my stomach..in 4 weeks..i.hope you stay healed bless you

Had 25 days of diarrhea last year and just had 16 days. Dr did Colonoscopy, Upper G I, stool tests, Cat scans and I have Irritable bowel syndrome. I will have it the rest of my life. It goes along with the Fibro and Depression. Praying your Doctor orders a colonoscopy and that it is negative. Your daughter needs to be more understanding because you are physically sick and doing the best you can.

hi im sick cos i went and smoked after years of abstinence ..its affected the diazepam.i take for sleep...stomacj and bowels as ive always had slow transit years due to.mostly.benzoes.. tried to reduce by 4 nits last year paim eatimg horrendous and felt food stuck.im stomach till.p.m. went back.up..now since smoking same thing..been on 6 yrs for sleep didnt know what were..trying get off worse than heroine they say and people suffer months then years sick once off..bedbound..cant do it..it will finish me off they cn turn on me or cause dementia. im.74 and had enough..very depressed cos been stupid
