Have had opioid constipation for years, which got to the point of fecal impaction which required an ER visit.
CT scan done showing thickening of sigmoid colon down to opening of 2-3mm. Surgeon said also diverticulitis found, now on Cipro & metronidazole and have follow up Tuesday to schedule exploratory colonoscopy.
Of course like an idiot I relied on WebMD and Google and have made myself terrified by what I’ve read. Joined to hear your stories and learn, and also to pray for everyone on here.

Thank you for posting in Colon Cancer Connected. I hate to hear you have this going on. It sounds like you have a really good medical team setup. I hope you do get a colonoscopy ASAP because that will go a long way to getting you answers. You are currently in 'speculation' mode which can lead to a lot of things at both ends of the spectrum. Googling ... I think we ALL do it. You are not an idiot. I did it as well.😲
I know in my colon cancer fight, my doctors actually told me to stop 'googling' things. And I did. There can be some crazy stuff as you well know. Once you get some better answers with the colonoscopy, it will also give you some better focus and direction. Some others here on this site may be of some help as well. Everyone needs better answers.
We do wish you all the best in with your Tuesday appointment. Please let us know what you find out. This type of information can be helpful to others on this site. It sounds like you are catching things early and that's awesome.
Thank You,
~Tom, GCCA Survivor - Colon Cancer Connected Site Administrator.
