Hi I joined here 3 years ago when my gynaecologist found a lump in my bowel. I had a scan and sigmoidoscopy that found nothing. I did have uterine polyps that resulted in a hysterectomy but no cancer was found. My bowels have really struggled to get back to normal without a lot of help but I have been getting much smaller poos with white in up to 5 times a day with a feeling something is still there. I’ve no noticeable blood or weight loss but I have had no appetite for over a year. I saw the doc on Tue as I found the lump my gyne did again which seems a lot bigger now. Could this have developed in 3 years? Could they have missed it? I can’t help thinking all this time I’ve had cancer. I should have heard on the 14th with an apt but didn’t and cos of the Easter break I rang yesterday(19th) to be told there were no appointments and they would ring me back. As no one had today I tried again. Even though they were supposed to be open the answerphone said closed. The general outpatients number they gave was also closed. Just don’t know what to do. I feel helpless

So sorry for what you are going through, I hope you can speak to someone soon who can get you the help you need. It's so worrying, I can totally relate. Take care.
Hi, If you had a lump found what happened about it. Was it in the lower colon and that is why they only did the sigmoidoscopy and not a full colonoscopy? Are you in the UK? If a lump is there you should be seen at your hospital. It is dreadful that you have not had the treatment you need. If your doctor has referred you and you are having trouble you can complain to the hospital PALS. They can intervene for you and help without going through a long complaints procedure. I hope you get an appt soon.
Hi my gyne felt it 3 years ago but a sigmoidoscopy and scan found nothing at the time.
She’s the bump hurt? Where is it located?
No it doesn’t hurt. My apt is Thur 28. I’ll post the outcome thanks x
Good luck Brenda. I think they should have done a full colonoscopy based on your symptoms. We can be too nice sometimes, I think you need to complain more. Also you can pay to have one privately. Please post the outcome.
