I had bright red blood on my stool last week now got cramps and diarrhoea all the time. I was feeling sick this morning before my breakfast I had some coffee and to run to the toilet. This is the third time this morning I have to use it. I am seeing my GP tomorrow and I am very worried . There was one case of colon cancer in my family.

You posted similar problems a year ago, what did your GP say and what was the diagnosis then ?

I could not see my doctor face to face because of Covid restrictions so I have been waiting until now . The doctor suggested it was bloating due to menopause and stress so I was prescribed tablets . It stopped for a while but it has gone back

Bloating doesn’t cause bleeding ! Your Dr should have seen you and he/she was wrong to guess at the diagnosis and to use Covid as an excuse not to see you. Any bleeding must be investigated and if necessary a referral for colonoscopy.
