I had a flexi sigmoidoscopy last November coz of red blood in a poo and everything was clear. Now since March I have been having more loose yellowish stools and tummy cramps. Because of covid, my age (I’m 31yo)And already having a flexi sigmoidoscopy done it would be extremely difficult to get a colonoscopy to put my mind at ease. Well.. the question is how likely did sigmoidoscopy miss something bad? I don’t have anemia or weight loss.
Thank you

Thanks for posting. A flexible sigmoidoscopy gives the dr visibility to the rectum and lower portion of the colon. A colonoscopy is required for the full colon, up to the cecum, to be examined.
It is possible that they did a flexible sigmoidoscopy because they suspected internal or external hemorrhoids (I'm assuming you had bright blood in the bowel movement?)
Because you are experiencing pain and a change in bowel habits, it is definitely appropriate and worth it to contact the specialist again to let them know what is going on.
If you feel something is off with your body, it is totally appropriate to be your own health advocate and work with your doctor(s) to get answers.
