Advice please re FIT test

Hello

I am worried out of my mind. I have had low ferritin for a year but taking iron

no anaemia and bloods

Otherwise normal. No weight loss or any other.

GP suggested FIT test which is more sophisticated than the normal faecal one we older people get.

My results of FIT back today and are abnormal at 11 - should be under 4.6 and I’m now on the two week pathway for a colonoscopy.

So frightened. Has anyone had this?

Hi just read this and I have a positive fit test have u been seen yet what symptoms have you had

No not seen anyone yet but have an appt with consultant before the colonoscopy. I don’t have any symptoms except very low ferritin which I’ve had for the past year and have been taking ferrous fumerate

National screening tests have all been negative but this FIT is positive

Why were you offered the FIT?

I have had a high positive fit test and have low folate . Have change in bowels

Iam taking Apixoban (an anti coagulant) Could this cause bleeding?

Have u had colonoscopy yet hope all ok. Mine is this week

No not yet. I’ve received the prep but haven’t opened yet. Know I have to but keep putting off.
