So far, so good

At my oncologist's yesterday, I learned that my white blood count had lowered again, but only from 123 to 117. I am really glad it is going down but hope it will soon decrease faster!

The WBC contains lymphocytes and other types of white blood cells. Ideally you would be tracking your absolute lymphocyte count, not the WBC, to get a handle on one aspect of your CLL. Once you have been diagnosed, CLL specialists pay more attention to other factors, such as your hemoglobin, lymph nodes and spleen, night sweats, unintended weight loss, and fatigue.

I don't understand why you make these distinctions. My absolute lymphocyte counts track right along with my WBC. One goes up, the other goes up, one come down, the other comes down. Of course my oncologist checks everything but I have no external lymph nodes swollen, nor do I have night sweats or unintended weight loss. If fact, I just gained a pound in the last two weeks!!!

Because your neutrophils can take a dangerous dive while you still think it's CLL B-cells.

If you have a neutrophil count it's fairly safe to use ALC = Wcc - Neut - 1.

We have very knowledgeable people on this site so they just want to keep you fully aware of all the numbers that correspond to this disease. I focus on WBC’s too lol 😂 Neutrophils are very important too, although I still function like I did in the midst of the Covid Plandemic, I am fully masked indoors & face shield outside in crowds. I’ve been sick 2X since I hit stage IV, when I started treatment & when my dose got increased. See I could not tolerate Zanubrutinib full dose & only 1/4 -1/2 dose for 13 months in total. Off treatment 4 months & expecting 1-2yrs of a ‘Medication break’. It took me from April- December for my numbers to normalize & my platelets still lag. Hgb 10.8->13, WBC 81->5 & Plts 76->116. Neutrophils jump all over ALC tracks with the WBCs too. Enjoy More & Worry Less Woo Saa 🙏🏾
