Apologies for the silence. I have had quite an eventful few months. My former partner served me with a court order to sell the house which threw me somewhat. That on top of trying to deal with the loss of my mother and stepfather in quick succession sent me down a dark path. I have had counselling and am being treated for depression and anxiety. Things were looking up until 2 weeks ago, I had my shingrix booster and started to feel unwell after 2 days. I contacted my GP and the nurse said that it should subside. The following day I called 111 and the paramedic I spoke to asked me if I could get to A&E as it was likely to be a long wait for an ambulance. I was burning up extremely short of breath and my heart was beating at an extremely fast pace. A friend came to take me and when he saw me said "You are Yellow!!". I was admitted and given 2 pints of blood then a round of Rituximab. I was discharged on Wednesday and have to have 4 more rounds if Rituximab. The diagnosis was Haemolytic anaemia. Feeling weary but ok .Love and strength to all.
Update.: Apologies for the silence. I have had... - CLL Support
Update.
Youβre having a rough time Jack and I hope thereβs much better times ahead for you.
Newdawn
Jacksc06, though your news is devastating, I have to comment you sound stronger in mind and spirit through it all. I'm praying for your body to heal and you can feel the new better balance in it. Have the doctors determined you were having a bad reaction to the shingrix shot? My reaction was not as severe as yours, but enough of a scare, I said, "No more!". Surprisingly, my doctors agreed. So I always have the shingles anti viral medicine in my medicine cabinet. My outbreaks have not been as bad as others I've heard of. I'm relieved you're seeing a professional to help you sort through this time. Much love sent to you. πSandra
Hi Sandra. Yes it is thought the jab caused it. Very scary time at one point I thought I was done for.
Oh Jacksc06, what a deluge of troubles π. I'm sorry that you've lost loved ones. The physical attack must have been a fright.
I can imagine that the housing / financial issue was a gut punch, that will probably resolve (maybe not the way you would like) but you will get past it.
Try to stay as healthy as you can, as the F1 guys say "keep your head down" (emotionally).
There is good coming around for you just ride this rough patch out.π
Oh dear ... a lot going on indeed. I'm sorry for the loss of your mother and stepfather, I'm still trying to get my own mother's estate finalised and it's a stressful process.I hope the counselling helps you and that you recover quickly from the anaemia. π
So sorry to hear this. Life doesn't take it easy on us. Not only health issues but relationship issues and losing loved ones too? That's really rough. It sounds as though you are bending but not breaking. In January of 2022 I wasn't sure I was going to make it either and I did and lived to tell. Hang in there and may there be sunnier days ahead for you.
Prayers sent and Hoping for the very best for you. And you can recover soon.πππ
Sorry to hear of the loss of your mother and stepfather and the court order to sell the houseHope you have better times in the future
Nice to hear from you jacks, sorry you're having a tough time again. Hope your counselling is helping, God bless, Terry
Very sorry to read about your latest round of bad news. "Just when you thought it couldn't get any worse" etc would floor most people, but not you. You have demonstrated very unusual strength and resilience over the last few years, However, you have most probably asked "why me ?* countless times. Good karma will come around, you deserve it.
You have taken the key step of seeking help, you are strong. you will get through it all. There is an ocean of goodwill out there and particularly in this group. Hang on in.
Very best wishes, Michael
oh Jack, this is awful. Sending on as much strength and love that will fit through your computer. Sometimes I wonder where my own words come fromπ
Sending my very best wishes for your recovery and hopefully a brighter future x
Jack, thanks for the update. Itβs difficult to lose parents, but your home also must have been devastating. So glad you have found a good counselor to help navigate these tough times. You have been through the hardest times and always come back stronger. Continue moving forward and know we are here for you. πSally
Was the HA triggered by the vaccine?
My haematologist thinks so. He said even non live vaccines can have trace elements and he had patients that reacted the sane from the covid jab.
So sorry in what you are going through- when life is at its toughest - you need to take care of you - what I do to calm my anxiety is to walk and pray -- you will be in my prayers
Sharks are always in the water. Stay in the boat, stay afloat Jack, good weather comes after the storm.
I've been told that "Calm seas don't make a sailor".
I knowπ I didn't wanna grow up to be a sailor either! it just happened.

I'm really sorry for the loss of your loved ones Jack. You've had to deal with some very unpleasant turns. I hope that things start to change for the better. Be kind to yourself and I hope every day finds you stronger. X
I am so sorry for all your loss and problems. I know what it feels like to be snowed under or plowed over....I am just coming out of a few hard months but nothing like yours.....I have to be a bit self-centered though as I met with the specialist yesterday and he was very high on me getting the shingles shot.....I have only heard bad things about the reactions and am not looking forward to it...Hang in there..hopefully the worst is over for you
Thank you. If you get ANY reaction play it safe and seek medical advice.
Thankful your friend was there for you. Glad to hear things are better π
Jacksc06 - It is very nice to hear from you even if your experiences have not been on the positive side. I am pleased you are seeing a counselor. I talk with mine every other week and I always lots to discuss.
Please post when you are able so we can be supportive of your health journey and how you are doing in any aspect you are open to sharing. I hope you have some certainty in your housing situation soon.
