hello , I just had another Covid shot, and each time I have had a large swollen lymph node I
Under the arm where I had the injection, but this time I have two swollen under the arm and one just above the collar bone. Also a bit of a rash on that left arm.
I’m trying warm wet compress to help
. Anyone have any other ideas. This is the fourth day.

This was my fifth one. I only got this one because I’m going on a long flight and a cruise
And wanted to take all precautions. I was advised by my oncologist to have it.
This time the side effect was two swollen lymph nodes under my arm ,and one on my neck just over the collar bone. They are now after a week going down, I used warm wet compress.
I did expect the side effects because it happened with all the vaccines.
I’m hoping I get some protection.

This is a family trip and I’m looking forward and just living my life with precautions
My lymph nodes are going down slowly this is day seven.

I have had 8 moderna vaccinations and recall having a large egg sized swollen node in the armpit on the side vaccinated. They varied in discomfort and usually receded in about a week. I recall reading that this happens b/c it is that axillary lymph node that reacts to the vaccine and generates the immune response. Further it is recommended to alternate arms for each covid vaccine injection. I don't recall why that is.

I’ve only had four Covid shots. After first two and booster I got a huge swollen node in the armpit thst didn’t go down. It was very painful. After 6 months itcsedjex to get smaller but after the next 6 months it seemed larger. Ultimately I was diagnosed with CLL. I got another shot because I was traveling and got an enlarged node under the other armpit. It wasn’t painful and didn’t pop up right away. It was still somewhat enlarged until I started Brukinsa. I’m afraid to get another Covid shot. I got Covid despite the shots. I just don’t want to feel another huge lymph node under my armpit. Oh forgot to mention before I was diagnosed and after a year of swollen nodes under the armpit, I got them in my groin too. So I’m afraid!

"With respect to swelling under your arm after a COVID-19 vaccination, this should be seen as a positive indicator that your body most likely received an immunity boost from your vaccination." Germinal centres within nodes swell due to the newly made lymphocytes, which are produced by your body to fight off COVID-19 infections. The swelling should gradually reduce as the well matched lymphocytes move to your bone marrow, or circulate in your blood, or naturally die off if no longer required. Even CLL cells die, it's just that they usually clone at a faster rate than they die.
I suspect that now you are on Brukinsa/zanubrutinib, you will be less likely to have swollen nodes, because unfortunately, BTKi drugs such as Brukinsa, kill off healthy B cells as well as CLL cells. BTKi drugs don't affect T cells, on which we seem to be more reliant for protection against COVID-19. Importantly, a COVID booster shot has a good likelihood of boosting your T cell protection against the latest COVID variants.

I was thinking of the possibility that the Covid shot may not have the same results because I’m taking Brukinsa . I’m kind of gun shy but thinking I will probably try again and get the shot. Thanks for the logic.
