I’ve been on Acalabrutinib for almost a year now. I have SLL. Everything had been going wonderfully, my lymph nodes significantly decreased in size, my 3-months follow up scan showed great results, my blood work looked normal, and the side effects were minimal.
I recently noticed, however, that my lymph nodes under both arms are swollen again, or they could have never gone down completely as I had stopped checking them, I just recovered from COVID and then rebound COVID and thus had to move my annual scan out. I am worried though that the medication stopped working or that the disease spread.
anyone had lymph nodes, especially under their arms, come back so soon while on that medicine?

If you just had COVID and then a rebound, your swollen nodes maybe from COVID. After all we do know that we can get swollen nodes from the vaccine, mine did, so it could happen with the virus. You didn't mention if you were on a BTKi before getting COVID. If so, did you have to stop the med to take Paxlovid if it was prescribed for you? Going off the med for a time could also cause nodes to start to swell again however, once back on the med, they will go down. Give the meds and your body a chance to recover. In the meantime, call your doctor or send them a note through your medical system and let them know what is going on.
I had the same after Covid and am on Acalabrutinib (+Obinutuzumab). They went down again relatively quickly. I think it’s just a reaction to being ill. Hope you’re better soon.
After third and four Covid vaccines my husband had big softball nodes under his arms. Redness and swollen arm too. The same year he relapsed, he was on Venetoclax. Now is on Zanubutinib. Nodes are gone.
