There have been many posts about heartburn and indigestion when taking Venetoclax and I have perused those. But I am UMRD- after O+V and last week suddenly started to have acid indigestion and heartburn. In the morning I have a constant need to clear my throat as well. I have been taking Tums and Pecid AC, but although I have days that are better it seems to keep coming back.
In January 2022 I had my gall bladder out. I wonder if that is part of it? I made an appt with Gastroenterology but it's not til next week. In the meantime I'm trying to keep my mind from running away with me. Good luck 😬
Has anyone else dealt with this?

How long have you been off treatment? I think those of us with one health condition like CLL always think every symptom we get has to do with the disease. I would be more suspect of maybe diet when it comes to heartburn and indigestion. Of course, I am no expert on any of this. I am currently on month 8 of Venclexta and rarely experience indigestion or heartburn. When I do I usually can associate it with diet and especially if I have an alcoholic drink.
Super late on the reply here, but a long time before I was diagnosed with CLL I had real issues with constant heartburn. I was going through a LOT of Tums and would wake up many times each night needing more. I went to the doc and was told to do one 6-week course of Prilosec, which lowered the amount of acid in my stomach for the duration. My esophagus was so raw from the constant heartburn it was unable to heal. Once I had finished the Prilosec, the heartburn was gone, permanently (unless I ate a lot of pepperoni that night). That's been almost 20 years ago. You might want to check with the doc and try that. It's OTC, but I think now that I have CLL I'll be running any med change past my doc.
Thank you so much for your reply! Yes I have been taking Prilosec now and it has been helping a lot, Pepcid didn't so much. I have never had heartburn before and it surprised me. And I find it really difficult not to think it has something to do with CLL. I had an endoscopy just to be sure and they didn't find anything so hopefully this will resolve it.
I get what you mean about the raw esophagus. That's really uncomfortable. Fortunately that is easing now. Best to you for continued health!
