As some of you may know I have had trouble with a rash that developed after a flu infection last November I got a all over by dy rash that actually last month dermatology said was probably caused by my covid jab it was severe and needed antibiotics and steroids. It has mainly cleared up now but I'm left with a few spots in my scalp ,face and trunk which is eosinophilic folliculitis and I'm on antibiotics and more steroids . I'm now getting worried as I have found this very stressful I have dropped some wieght and there is a uptick in my lymphocytes. Could this be the start of my ibrutinib failing? Been on it six years with 17p so done very well . Or could this be something else has anyone else experienced this condition. I have another Deena appointment next month and my next bloods with my consultant in late April so will probably know more then .

eosinophilic folliculitis
Cartwheels, eosinophilic folliculitis is a common skin condition among us immunocompromised folks. First written about in HIV literature. It is common on head, face and chest area. I don’t think you can assume that it a sign of ibrutinib resistance.
It is just a sign of our general immunocompromised status.
Hibiclens is an antimicrobial and antiseptic skin product often found in the first aid section of a pharmacy. I use it twice a week on my scalp on the back of my head with good results. Caution: keeps eyes shut tightly until rinsed away as it is hard on your corneas.

Thanks, I have started using coaltar soap the last week and I'm sure that's helping and I seem to be getting on top of it . Just been a worry with all the different issues I have had last few months . And yes I did read up on this condition so aware it's Immune disorder hence my concern.
Tell me more about this hibiclens you talk about. The back of my head gets a deep itch on and off. I am currently on (O&V) almost done with (O) infusions one more in March. What do you use this product for on back of your head?
yes, I use this product in the shower twice a week to control folliculitis on my scalp in the back of head. It is one of several antimicrobial skin washes on the market. Folliculitis is common in our immunocompromised group. It is an infection of the hair follicles usuallu caused by the staphylococcus bacteria which is found on the surface of everyone’s skin. In cll we are less able to avoid stff getting into the hair root which then causes irritated itchy little pustules. Googling folliculitis brings you to many choices.
