Hi everyone,

My wife Gabriella started Acalabrutinib for CLL a couple of weeks ago and getting great results (lymph nodes in the neck area almost gone ) and very few side effects ( morning headaches taken of with a cup of coffee, thanks to a post I read )

Very painful mouth sore appeared a couple of days ago and looking for tips to make it less painful

Thanks and good health to all

For your investigation you may want to consider Ibrutinib/Imbruvica very similar to Acalabrutinib / Calquence.

I am also on Acalabrutinib. Ten months into treatment I got my first mouth sore. Later they also appeared in my nose . I do not have them every month - maybe several times a year. Mupirocin (prescribed by ENT) ointment is what I use in my nose. I use one version of a Magic Mouthwash (there are several recipes out there!) = 1/3 hydrogen peroxide, 1/3 baking soda, 1/3 warm water. Shake it up and use as a mouth wash/rinse 2-3 times daily. Clears them up pretty quickly. Other Magic Mouthwash recipes have (prescribed) liquid lidocaine but that numbs the entire mouth and I didn't want that effect. Best of luck to your wife. Wonderful she has a caregiver looking out for her!

Sorry to hear that Sergi,

But I second your wife’s use of Oregano oil. I hope it works soon.

Hi Sergi, Gengigel has helped me every time I have mouth sores. Certainly worth a try. They are gone after two to three days. Good luck.

Great thanks for your input

I had mouth sores as well and bought Prevention mouth rinse for oncology patients. Got it off internet and it did help me. Good luck.
