Today's consultation

My consultant rang this morning and she is very pleased with me. My blood numbers are all good and within normal ranges. I asked about remission and as I expected she said that the CLL would never go into full remission but I am stable so therefore partial remission. I had blood taken last week for an antibody test and as expected it has returned a negative result. I asked if it was the Acalabrutinib or the CLL which caused lack of immunity. She said a bit of both and to be vigilant.

Thank you for the update sounds like you are doing really well so very pleased for you.

From what I now understand it looks like you can go into a better remission with V&O combination then you come off meds . It is very tempting but I don’t think I want to go into hospital for overnight stays at the moment . Think the Acalabrutinib sounds good and perhaps the V&O can be used later on .

Wish you continued good health🤗

I am on O&V treatment currently and have never went into hospital. I get my infusions at the infusion center. It takes a bout 4.5 hours then I go home. The first couple of infusions took longer.

not so good Alice, my bladder cancer returned just before Christmas and I’m waiting to go for surgery to remove tumours, I’ve had my pre op and just waiting for a date now. Well I’ve had 2 years now since last surgery and I thought I was on top of it, I was a bit down over Christmas but feeling ok.

Thanks Dave x

Hello kitchengardener2 😊 I'm so happy to see you are stable. That's wonderful news! I hope you are feeling well in body & spirit. We have rain on top of snow and ice packed roads today. Schools are closed. Makes Spring planting feel far away. Your good news puts sunshine back in my day. I was in Corby once, long ago, and was enchanted by the beautiful roses. I think of it whenever I see someone posting from "across the pond" 😊

Really looking forward to getting back in the garden. Have broad beans, kale, spinach and onions already in. Roses getting new shoots.

Oh my!!! Wish you could see the brilliant smile you put on my face!!! I'm dreaming of warm enough days to plant. That will be in May.

Good news, so happy for you. I'm envious of your having kale, onions, and spinach ready. The last freeze in Asheville really did a number on plants. I'm like you, looking forward to spring planting...I did see that daffodils were peeping up a little Take care and stay well.
