Travel Insurance

I’m hoping to holiday in the Caribbean this year and finding it difficult to find reasonably priced travel insurance which gives cover for CLL so wondered if anyone has had the same experience and could possibly recommend a company that would offer cover.

This may not be relevant to you however, if you have worked for the Public Sector in the UK you can join their society for £40.00 a year. This then enables you to access their “Over 50 world wide travel insurance scheme”. The only conditions excluded are lung based. I am taking Alcalabrutinib so active treatment.

I picked up this tip from a Health unlocked member and now have an annual policy for my husband and I for £365.00 ( not valid over 75 years of age). The website is cssc.co.uk

Hope you get a decent good value policy.

Yes. I read on here and investigated the eligibility criteria for the CSSC. It’s a long list so worth a look; not just civil service.

I joined at £4 per month and already taken advantage of free entry into Tintagel Castle.(£17).

Waiting for March to apply for the over50s travel policy as I’m off to the USA in October and that is stupid prices. Policies run/ renewed from April.

Also if you have the policy in action before you are 74 you may continue with them. It’s not just CLL but age is a factor!!!!!

Civil Service Sports Club and over 50s travel policy; so worth a Google on a rainy day.

Not sure there is anything " reasonably" priced these days and especially for the Caribbean which is the most expensive geographical location as it is included in the Worldwide including US category. We travel regularly to the Caribbean ( not cruises) and for the last two years haven been insured on an annual basis with Staysure who are easy to deal with , competitive and wide cover. Prior to that we had cover with Insure With until they temporarily withdrew from the market.

Assuming you are making two or more trips a year , annual cover is cheaper but , if not , you can just take out a one off cover which is obviously cheaper. But having just come back from Barbados, prices out there have rocketed. |Good luck.

Allianz will cover this in US but not sure if their UK cover terms are similar. Trip cancel, trip delay, lost luggage, local medical assistance, transport for medical. Has COVID and pre-existing condition cover specifically called out. Was well priced for our family of four.
