seniors flu shot

I am on Ibrutinib . I got my annual flu shot a few weeks ago .Was that okay to do that? Does doing this affect my treatment with CLL? Thank you.

You were wise to have your annual flu shot. It won't affect your ibrutinib. Unfortunately, the ibrutinib will unavoidably reduce the effectiveness of the the flu shot. Even so, it's worth having the flu shot, as even a small amount of protection could mean a less severe case of flu and a reduced risk of what could be fatal pneumonia. Dyba, My flu shot and pneumonia shot did not affect my CLL. Neither did the covid shots even though I did have side effects with the covid shots. Immunizations are especially important for us. 🙂Sandra
