Anyone ever have the armpit lymph node blow up immediately after getting the flu shot?
Flu Shot: Anyone ever have the armpit lymph node... - CLL Support
Flu Shot
Not after the flu shot, but definitely after the prevnar13 shot. Took it about 3 months to go back down, however, they were enlarged before the shot.
That's helpful, thanks...I'll be sure to bear that in mind if I ever get a Prevnar 13 shot...
Hope you do get a Prevnar13 it is your best chance of some protection against bacterial pneumonia... far too frequently the cause of death in CLL.

Yes, every time I got one...before starting treatment on acalabrutinib. But now, not so much.
Now is the time you should be getting your vaccinations, recent studies indicate that patients on ibrutinib do make antibodies against vaccines... while acalabrutinib and ibrutinib are somewhat different, it is quite likely that you would mount an immune response to vaccines...

Yes, my armpit lymph node did swell after last year's flu vaccine, which was not a very effective cocktail, and I did get a nasty case of the flu besides and the only time I have ever had the flu!! This year, I didn't notice any swelling. These are the only two flu vaccines that I've received since the 1970's. Dx 2014, W&W, 13qdel
My lymph nodes in neck swelled up after flu shot, and took months to get smaller.
It was a frightening side effect.
Appreciate all the replies!
Bit of a late reply I'm afraid, but my armpit lymph nodes swelled after last year's shot. Then a few weeks later I got pneumonia anyway. Not impressed...
