CSSC: this is the civil and public service organization (Google it )
You can join this for 4.50 a month and have access to a NO questions asked world wide inc USA annual Travel insurance.
I was quoted yesterday 1350 with Stay Sure for a couple for annual cover to include USA and had to go through every single thing I had undergone in the last 2 years inc and prescription meds I have had and why , I was exhausted.
having read this post today I googled
CSSC and within 10 mins I had joined up and went to the travel insurance link.
I printed off my form and am off to the post box now.
As simple as that and we now have Annual travel ins as a couple for the princely sum of 375.00 total. Plus the 4.50 a month membership to CSSC which entitles you to lots of other discounts and offers
You do need to have worked in the civil service or public sector though but we both did so all good

Eligibility always confuses me on this one because it’s a Civil Service organisation but also talks of ‘public sector’ people being included. However, the public sector is Local Authority staff who are not civil servants. One is local authority and the other central government. Worth enquiring anyway.
my mistake it’s the CSSC organisation which does cover Borge Civil service and public sector
Yes did the same recently but registered on line. People really need to go through the alphabetical eligibility list as it accepts non public sector companies who have contracted into the public sector!! Or you can phone them.
Not sorted the annual travel over 50 yet but that was the main attraction because I can see problems in the future more by age than illness.
In Borneo at the moment on holiday with single trip insurance that was only just below their yearly quote. When organising that 6 months ago I had companies that wouldn’t insure me. Very healthy, 6 years in remission but I have the C word!
A similar deal is available through the FPS (Forces Pension Society) - if you join before age 80 cover continues ad infinitum - £375 couple worldwide - just fit for travel declaration required. Applies to Forces personnel and their families - if your parents were in the forces then you qualify
I’m really surprised by this. We have used CSIS before on a “fit to travel” basis but they said that they no longer offer that service and would not quote (a month ago) because of the CLL. Is the CSIC different to the CSIS ? I guess so! We are in France right now (without travel insurance!) will take a look at the CSIC website on our return. Do you have a link ? Thanks Keith
CSSC: this is the civil and public service organization: a point to bear in mind is that there is an age limit for the no-questions-asked travel insurance - 70 or maybe 75 I think it is. So it is not available for a 76 year old like me!
Thank you for this info. I believe the organisation you intend to refer to is in fact the CSSC-the Civil Service Sports Council. The membership fee is £4.50 per month and it offers worldwide travel insurance as one of its benefits. It seems from the website that pre-existing conditions are automatically covered if a person is eligible to take out the travel insurance policy. The Civil Service Insurance Society is a different organisation, and only offers cover for pre-existing conditions subject to them being declared and being accepted by underwriters. Antony
I am not yet a member of either but, on its face, the CSSC "deal" seems extremely good.
