Just coming to the end of my time on the FLAIR trial, and am faced with the prospect of stopping Ibrutinib. Is there any news of the proposed follow on trial, STATIC? My doctor today hadn't heard of it.

Hi I have just under 2 years to go on ibrutinib. I have asked haemotologist who is hoping to run static but it is not set up yet. Hope it is set up soon.Ann
I am in US so don’t know if it would be the same for you, but I was put on static trial when the Captivate trial was over. It is a Godsend not having to pay for the Ibrutinib.
Hi Becky I take it you are on the arm of Static which means you stay on ibrutinib? Can I ask if you were given a choice? If you were was there a reason why you choose to remain on ibrutinib rather than take a break?Ann
I was doing well on Ibrutinib as the trial was ending but had not attained MRD neg or Undetected. So I was just continued on with the Ibrutinib. We did not want to take a break as we knew the CLL was still with me. Plus if I had taken a break, when/if I wanted to start back, the Static trial would not have been an option for me. So I would have had to start paying for it. The trial now states that I can remain on it until the disease progresses or I need to come off the drug for any other reason. I am doing well on it so we decided to to let napping dogs nap!
