Hi everyone,
I hope this post finds you all safe and well.
Thanks to you all who responded to my post re my upcoming eye surgery. I feel so much more confident with all your advice.
I’ve just had my telelink consultation with my haemotologist today.
She advised me to stop ibrutinib 10 days before my cataract surgery and 2 days post op.
I also asked if I could have the AstraZeneca vaccination and she said that will be ok for me.
Originally she had told me at our last consultation not to go ahead with it as she needed more information about it.
All my bloods were normal, which I’m so happy with.
Now I’m all ready to go for my surgery which is on 17th April.
Kinds regards from Josephine from Australia.

Good wishes for the desired outcome with your cataract surgery. I hope you will keep us informed as I am signing up for cataract surgery. I'm a little concerned as I have dry macular degeneration.

All good wishes for your surgery. I had both eyes done. Months apart of course and this week the time was ready for me to go for my new prescription for glasses. Can’t wait! You will be so pleased with the most beautiful colours you see once your surgery is done!
I, too, am on Ibrutinib.

Hi Carole,
Thanks for your reply.
I am so happy for you and wishing you all the very best with your new glasses and your health.
We’re all so lucky to have found this group to get the best information for our condition apart from our care professionals.
As they say “we’re all in this together”.
