Has anyone found a State or place to get Vaccine for COvid-19 because of having CLL. Leukemia makes us 9 times more vulnerable to dyeing from the Coved so I am hoping that we can vaccinated sooner that the regular population. I would travel anywhere is there is a place to get the shot.

Where to get vaccinated now for Corvid 19 because of having CLL and having a chance of dying because the leukemia makes more likely to die
Not sure where you got your “facts”from and not sure if this is really the place to write them! I am in the UK, speak regularly to my consultant and do not believe your “9 times more vulnerable to dying from Covid” statement. Sorry but this is unsubstantiated scaremongering.
Hi there, I'm not at all sure what the system is in the USA, each state seems to have its own and you appear to have to find somewhere yourself. I may be wrong but perhaps start with your Dr and ask where you can get it done. All the best

Hi Furman!
Most states are now allowing g anyone 65 Nd older to get the vaccine. Im not sure whether you fit into that age group or not. If you do, the trick will be to find an appointment. Start with with your doc, either GP or hematologist and see what they say. You can check your local pharmacies as well.. Also check with your health dept. It would help if we knew your state so if there is someone in this group from the same state they may be able to give more specific information. I'm in NY and we are backed up here by 14 weeks. My cancer center will let us know when we can get vaccinated. But the federal government is limiting its allocations of vaccines to the states so that is making it harder to receive it. Good luck and let us know how it goes. In the meantime, stay safe by following hand washing, mask wearing and social distancing.
Your local health facility or hospital will answer your questions. I called the hospital my doctor is with and was given an appointment 6 weeks from now. As for “dying”, that is not on my agenda. My immune system is compromised, but with following the virus protocols I can keep myself safe. I avoid the family parties for now, which saddens me, but it’s better than risking getting Covid. I look forward to my future, stronger in health habits and I fill each day with positive thinking and activities. Even when I simply sit quietly, I feel thankful. I really do!
CLL is my diagnosis, it is not stopping me from good times now and to come.
Don’t be fearful, Funman, our medical community is valiant in its work for us with CLL. And this forum is valiant in keeping us informed. 😊 Sandra
