Clinical Trials studying COVID-19 vaccines in CLL: In response to all those who have reached out to CLL Society inquiring as to whether there are clinical trials studying CLL patients' response to the COVID-19 vaccine, we bring the good news that the time has come! This is an evolving story. Up-to-date information on current and upcoming clinical trials directed towards filling this critical data gap can be found here. I have had covid post vaccination and still don't have any antibodies .

Make sure they tested for the spike protein. Often they do the wrong test. They did with me despite ordering the right one. Also T cell response might be more important.

I Know my wife's an expert on IgG Neutralising trimeric spike antibodies..... her company has one the best tests on the market......

I asked my hemoc's NP at Dana Farber about the spike protein test. Their response was "I spoke with one of our infectious disease physicians and unfortunately we also do not have a antibody test that is specific for the spike protein yet." I'm very confused 🤔

Dana Farber may not have that test within their system, is how I interpreted this, not that there isn't one outside the Dana Farber system. For example, when I had my MRSA infection, I asked my GP about wanting a sensitivity test on that culture that included "MIC levels". Their system lab doesn't provide the "MIC levels" test & has no ability to test it, I had to carry a specimen to another laboratory system that Did offer it. Luckily there was one in the city, I didn't have to ship it elsewhere to get that test I wanted, like my FISH test gets shipped out-of-state to be done.

One would think that Dana Farber being a world class research hospital would have one.

I bet they are in the process of it, and it will happen at some point...... it seems likely that the state of MA, being in a big push to get people vaccinated, is focusing on that right now. And Dana Farber, as a large institution, has a process to add this type of test in-system that likely involves a lot of steps. Plus they just recently opened the Chestnut Hill location, which I am sure involved a lot of work from many departments that needed to focus on that this past month. We also don't know if other places have had the ability to do some things quickly like local wealthy donors who have said "here's the money, add the test ASAP", for instance.

UK ABC-19 LFT.Also there is an ELISA Assay from Mont Sinai Hospital.. EKF are commiclis8ng it.

Both probably have FDA submissions pending

Yes, someone has to be first, and pave the way for others. In the US especially, things occur at different rates, in different orders, in the various states, compared to countries with centralized healthcare, I imagine. Like most everything in Life, there are pros & cons to the various ways things are done hahaha

I asked to get on the study at Dana Farber and was told since I had the initial vaccine, I wasn't eligible.

It looks like you have to give a blood sample BEFORE vaccination as well as after. So if you've already had any jabs at all, you're ineligible

It was somewhat disappointing, but I did volunteer for a non related research study.

This study isn't at Dana Farber, but it's in MA among other places, and it doesn't take healthy volunteers, only people who test positive for Covid. It doesn't specifically exclude any comorbidity groups. It's looking at changes in immune responses for people who DO get Covid.

They are looking to amend the trial to allow those already vaccinated to participate. Things are changing fast.
