Fenbendazol - worth a try?

I'm new here.....anyone have an opinion / experience using Fenbendazol (Panacur C, aka FebBen), per article in 'Alternatives' by Dr. David Williams (Vol. 22 No. 8 Aug. 2019) 222 mg/day for 3 days then 4 days off? If so, and positive, any recommendations on a reputable source? Thanks!

So far as I understand, Dr Williams is a chiropractor who advances controversial cancer therapies beyond any expertise he possesses.

There are a good handful of drugs to treat Cll widely endorsed by true Cll experts. In treating Cll I would choose a treatment endorsed by a consensus of true Cll experts over that of a treatment pushed by a controversial chiropractor.

Thanks....I've asked my oncologist and am waiting for him to weigh in....just thought I'd ask the group. I should have done a search first (on this site) as I see many have had similar questions. I appreciate your input...didn't realize that about Dr. Williams....will have to research him and his publication a bit further.

Dr Williams appears to be well known for his support of unproven natural remedies, which a lot of people seem drawn to.

We have some really good treatment options proven to be effective for Cll by clinical trials. I personally would choose treatments endorsed by highly qualified Cll experts over those by Williams.

You are at a good place to get feedback on this and to ask questions about potential therapies. I am just a lay person contributor. The little bit of research I did does not support this drug over conventional Cll meds.

Fenbendazol was previously discussed here: healthunlocked.com/cllsuppo...

The article you referenced described one patient with advanced small cell lung cancer, so it is not only for a totally different cancer, but the poorest form of evidence - anecdotal.

The closest research I could find for Fenbendazol and leukaemia/lymphoma, was this study, of human Burkitts Lymphoma in mice: ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articl...

While Burkitts Lymphoma is a B-cell lymphoma like CLL, it is rare in adults, where it has poor survival statistics, quite different from CLL. Further, the Fenbendazol was only found to work when combined with a vitamin mix, plus there was concern that it could accelerate tumour growth - as was in fact observed with one tumour in the trial.

Thanks Neil...link to research paper worked...will give it a review in the a.m. Again, sorry for not doing a 'search' of this site before posting....will look at previous discussions as well.

I have used this to worm horses.... I would not be keen to take it myself.

Wormer for dogs and cats, also. It’s going around as a last ditch alternative approach for colon cancers. I have seen a few people pushing it, but have yet to see any links to reputable sources or patients claiming a cure. It’s heartbreaking to see people pushing something like this on desperate patients!

I agree. This is the problem with anecdotal evidence and testimonials from alternative treatment sites. You don't get to read the stories about the failed attempts, so you get a misleading favourable bias for treatments that actually have a poor success rate. If the promoted treatment had a reasonable success rate, it would just be a regularly accepted treatment. One enterprising chap actually examined the changes over time on an alternative treatment promoter's website and showed that the promoter removed testimonials, when those who had followed his recommendations for treating their cancer died. Clinical trials report the successes and the failures.

I haven’t seen any successes for dog wormer yet on the colon cancer sites ( followed for a family member) Just people pushing it. Fortunately the two I follow both have admins who are on top of things and junk posts don’t last long if they get through at all.
