According to the Government Guidance, Clinically extremely vulnerable (CEV) patients self-isolating at home should avoiding visiting pharmacies in person. Therefore the Pandemic Prescriptions Delivery Service has been introduced in England from 5th January 2021. The service will run until 23:59 on 21st February 2021.

Where did you hear about this ? My hospital has a badly run pharmacy, not helped by being in a portacabin, and they have been using a bike courier service. I understood that funding was running out for this service. I was concerned about 3 months Ibrutinib being entrusted to a bike courier, but not as much as I was standing outside in a badly organised queue in the cold.
I have nothing but praise for all my clinical treatment, but sadly other areas leave me cold. Like the appointments staff who seem to have a problem with 12 weeks against 12 months.

I doubt this would apply to specialist prescriptions because Boots wouldn’t stock anything like Ibrutinib.
