Go off imbruvica

Hello! My brother it’s now on 400 mg of venetoclax, for 2 weeks. All the nodes dessapeared and the blood levels are good.

Because he relapsed on imbruvica, at the 50 mg dose, the doctors put him off imbruvica, in the 50 mg dose and in few days the nodes increased quickly and had fever. So the doctors gave him imbruvica again.

As I told, he his now on the 400 mg full dose, and also with imbruvica, indeed its fails.

The doctors told him that this Sunday he will stop imbruvica, but I’m affraid if his nodes increasing again.

Im think the 400 mg dose must be stronger dealing with the cll than a dose of 50 mg, logic..

But all your knowledge and experiences are very welcome!

Ps. Also, he will start Rituximab soon.

i had this happen to me with my blood counts. I started venclexta and was supposed to stop the imbruvica during the venclexta ramp up. after a month away from imbruvica my counts started increasing . i re-added the imbruvica and the count went down again.

However-after researching this. some people get the imbruvica 'flare ' after stopping it. thing are supposed to return back as venclexta continues.

400mg of one drug does not mean its stronger than 50mg of another drug just because the number is bigger.

"Potency" could determine the opposite is true.

I mean 400 mg of venetoclax is stronger to kill cll cells than 50 mg of venetoclax. Is that I think
