After 4 years treatments. Going from Ofatumumba to imbruvica overnight. With no testing other than CBC ,and whatever goes with it. CT scans every 4 months.
Do we need a CLL Specialist?
Hubby had imbruvica for short time. Retuxium before that. Is on Itrocanizol for Histoplasmosis of the brain. Therefore no treatment for his CLL.
Given your husband's immunity is low due to his CLL and the complexity of his case, he would be very wise to see a CLL specialist. You haven't shared where you live, but if that's in the USA, you have access to the excellent CLLSociety.org expert access program. That gives you a free video consult with a recognised CLL specialist. That your husband is having CT scans might also be a warning sign, as CLL specialists nowadays rarely do CT scans. That requirement might be due to his fungal infection however, but I'm wondering if an MRI scan might be more appropriate? (Note that I'm not medically trained).
I'm a bit confused by you saying no treatment for his CLL, yet earlier saying that he was on Imbruvica for a short time. Was that CLL treatment stopped because of his Histoplasmosis?
Always good idea to get CLL expert involved. There are some that you can e mail or video call your appt. as suggested would be best since traveling is difficult. 💕
