On my CAR-T blog, I share sad news about the loss of my CAR-T friend, Cherie cllsociety.org/2019/10/anot... and my own good news, U-MRD 18 months past CAR-T: cllsociety.org/2019/10/good...

Living as a patient and advocate is a very exposed place full of highs and lows.

Dr. Koffman - I am so sorry for the loss of your dear friend. It is a pain you know all too well.

It's also a testament to your character since we all know how much you have opened up your world to care for others.

So grateful to hear your good news - we all need you, Dr. Koffman, and are so appreciative for all you do.

All the best,

D.

Two pieces of news on very different ends of the spectrum as so much is in life. I’m sorry to hear about your friend Brian but very glad that things are going well for you.

Brian, please accept my deep condolences on the loss of your friend.

From Cherie's Facebook page, I found her website and have read her essays. I also watched two compelling video interviews she did with Andrew Schorr of Patient Power.

What a remarkable woman--a true profile in courage.

I've ordered Cherie's book, "A Pilgrimage Without End: How Cancer Healed My Broken Heart," and thought I would share the link to Cherie's website for those forum members who may not have access to Facebook:

cherierineker.com/

(The sales of this book are intended to benefit Multiple Myeloma research.)

Best wishes and many congratulations on your personal health update.

Mary
