I was diagnosed with cll just before Christmas in 2018. Needless to say I was absolutely floored as I did not even feel sick. I was referred to Dr. Ahmed Galal at the Duke Cancer Center. The day I walked into his office the Grimm reaper was riding on my back. This wonderful man looked at me and said if you have to have cancer this is one of the best kind you can have. Odds are you will outlive it and be a GG (great grandma). God sent me to this man because that is exactly what I needed to hear. I did have to start treatment right away but already in remission. Looking forward to the day when I can take my Great Grandchildren to meet the man who gave me a new lease on life. My advice is don't let this take over your life. The people you love need you as much as you need them. LIVE LAUGH LOVE

Great message Nana. What treatment did you have?
C
Mild chemo. The only side effects I have is a itchy rash.
By "C", do you mean chlorambucil?
Chemotherapy
I guess I was wondering which chemo therapy, since we all discuss our drug regimens here in some detail, because the specific treatment does make a difference to understanding other things happening. But you don't need to say if you don't want to .

My husband and I both have CLL and I agree with you, too much to do and not enough time to do it in. We are also going to become GG’s in August.
