Saw the transplant dr and found out that because the chemo didn’t work in the trial, I can no longer donate stem cells to myself...
I was very happy when it was going to be me, less risk etc
Now I’m hoping my older sister will be a match, I’m almost 45, she’s 48 1/2 but honestly no clue how her health is because she never goes to the dr...
Anyway, I have chemo the rest of this week then 3 weeks off then another week; I’m praying to do it at home but it depends on transportation and a few other things.
Then I guess either after 3 more weeks they do a pet/scan again and I pray even more....
Today was ok I had a little more nausea but nothing serious thank goodness....
Anyway-that’s about it right now!
More tomorrow!

Thank you for keeping us updated, Rebecca. We can't be with you in person as you are going through this but we can give you support through the forum. I think you are amazing and you probably have no idea how much the inspiration you provide helps.
Sending you positive vibes and good thoughts as you go through this treatment. Special thoughts for your sister and family as well.
Rebecca - When my cousin went through a transplant for AML I learned more than I ever wanted to know about the process and got to know some wonderful post transplant patients, some who I'm still in touch with. Most had unrelated donors - usually from Germany. They do an awesome job there recruiting donors. One Follicular patient had an auto, and had a lot of trouble post transplant. A few had haplo (half matches from a family member) which were successful.
A high school student, who was at the same center as my cousin, had a cord blood transplant because they couldn't find a match. He is thriving. In fact, he and his mother became the poster people for the fundraising drive for the Ronald McDonald House program. If you ever go to McDonalds you may have driven past their poster. Don't get stuck on your sister being your only option. The whole transplant process has progressed in leaps and bounds, just like the newer treatments for CLL. If you are into researching things yourself, bethematch.org is a great resource. anthonynolan.org based in the U.K. Also has great materials.
