The first talk of the day was a team presentation from the Psycho-Oncology Service, Liaison Psychiatry, Addenbrooke’s Hospital - Approaches to Psychological health in Cancer
This was followed by Jackie talking about her diagnosis and treatment under the Flair trial.
This was followed by an update on the current CLL Support Association developments and information on how to become a volunteer or trustee by Marc and Brian.
The main presentation was given by Dr George Follows : CLL – ‘Where are we now and where are we heading?’ Dr Follows is a consultant haematologist and clinical lead for Lymphoma and CLL at Cambridge University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. A question and answer session followed.
Thanks Myrddin, just waiting for the slides to be signed off and they will be posted up. It was great to have members attending volunteering to help as Champions taking CLLSA info to their hospitals and surgeries and also to help fund raise, well done Cambridge!
Topped up leaflets available during my recent hospital though there were quite a few their already. All those visiting hospital or their GP can drop off leaflets I have done so for many years. Dropping information often triggers an exchange about. CLLSA so very helpful. I send email links to my GP to information that I think the surgery would find helpful. I am fortunate that my GP is receptive to this information. but I know not all are so lucky.
Slides for Dr George Follows presentation have now been added at the end of the article. An excellent resource especially for those newly diagnosed and those getting close to treatment.
