Husband has been off ibrutinib for 2 weeks woke this morning with face swollen and hives all over. Big and itchy. Dr said he felt it has nothing to do with stopping imbruvica. Has anyone else experienced this. I feel certain it related. Thanks for feedback

I'm on imbruvica and got hives each time a blood draw was taken, now I believe it was a skin reaction to the disinfectant that was put on my skin since the hives had a pattern only on the spot where disinfection happened.

I hope you can find out what caused the hives. I'd say think about what happened - what food was new, what change in detergent that touched skin from/shampoo/clothes/bedding etc.

It is called withdrawal reaction. Happened to me twice after stopping Imbruvica. In my case happened after three days of stopping Imbruvica. In this forum you might search for what are the withdrawal symptoms of Imbruvica.

I believe they were recommending steroids but I decided to go back on Imbruvica and right after everything became normal. So definitely in my case it was diagnosed as a withdrawal reaction

My husband definitely got hives after going off ibrutinib. The day after he went off, he had hives all over his head. The hematologist on call at the time was also puzzled, but I have no doubt it is related.
