I was alarmed by questions as to delevery problems and availability of several medication due to Brexit and Trade Agreements worldwide and the safety of the production, especially in China and India. Not to mention that “Big Pharma” seems to play it hard and many prices of medication seem to be out of control. Disturbing factors. We have enough to worry about with our health conditions.

I do hope FDA and EMA have our backs and take care of these questions.

Not sure why it would be a major concern Lonza is a Swiss company with manufacturing facilities worldwide...,

Many drugs are made in China, as are most supplements and OTC meds... India also have a growing drug manufacturing industry, as does Russia...

The new CLL treatment, zanubrutinib, which is a third generation type of BTK similar to Imbruvica (ibrutinib) was designed and will be made in China...

New biosimilar versions of the CLL monoclonal antibody Rituxan, have been approved, and are made in South Korea.. Russia has a competitive drug which is just finishing clinical trials and will start the FDA and EU approval process this year

As long as European managers oversee-there are many quality control problems with Chinese productions- we have had drug scares, baby formula scares etc of products manufactured in China. TGA Australia can verify this. Being from the pharmacy industry I am cautiously optimistic. Maybe the products are well quality controlled but there is a bit of a track record. I also have friends who manufacture clothes etc in China and many mistakes are made. I once spoke to the CEO of food section that run the Celebrity and RCL ships and he told me stories of cheap short cuts and cheating of quality of goods in food supplies for the fleets. Now hopefully this Swiss company keeps their eye on local managers and the local techicians employed- the above are facts .

Ibrutinib is made by Pharmacyclics in the Bay Area of California.

Pharmacyclics developed the drug and was purchased by AbbVie a number of years ago... the drug is produced in China.

Read the drug label.. it clear states 'Active ingredients made in China'

Secondary compounding and capsulation and packaging was done in the U.S., but the blister pack, one a day pills are done in China now...

Could be. The company remains in Silicon Valley, though. I do hope that the quality control is solid.
