Just started the AVO (Acalabrutinib, Venetoclax, Obinutuzmab, clinical trial at Dana Farber just last week.
Anyone else out there on this same trial?

Sounds good, all the best!
AVO. Wow. This is a great combination.
That sounds an amazing combo. Is that first line or second line? I would predict from what we know so far that if anything current would produce a cure at least in some patients it would be that combo.
This is the second phase of the trials
Pete,
I thought the triplet for relapsed uses Rituxin and frontline is Gazvya?
Jeff
Pete will likely start very soon as well. Contacted Dana Faber this week and they confirmed I have a spot. Last blood work was not good with platelets further decreasing and now I am anemic.

I just finish my first cicle and start with gaziva today with some side effects like high heart rise and low fever . Fever gone after sling the drug . It happened to you also?
Many have a reaction to the first dose of Gazyva. Most don’t after that, but your nurses will be watching for one. Be sure to say something if anything feels even slightly different - even an itchy nose. They can stop the. Infusion, make adjustments, then restart it at a slower rate.
Hi Pete
Just wondering how this trial is going. My wife who has CLL was offered the possibility of going on this combo on a trial. Not sure if it’s the same one as you as we are in Australia. Not exactly needing treatment as yet but it does seem like a good alternative to FCR. Her WBC stable at 90 but Hgb starting to dip a bit.
Regards
Mike
Anyone traveling out of state for this trial? Or is everyone generally from New England? I am curious how difficult it is to do a trial like this not living nearby.
Can you tell us the order they are giving it to you and for what duration of time and how is it being administrated?
How long do you take the AVO. I see your post is 8 months ago, how have you been doing. Seems like that ought to do it, coming from all angles.
My husband is in the IVO trial, given the opportunity we would have taken AVO instead but he’s thankfully had no issues with Ibrutinib so far. Good luck to you and thanks for your trial participation to help gather data on these combos to push them to wider availability!
I have been in the AVO trial for 8 months. Infusions with Obinatuzamab are complete and still taking Acalabrutinib and Venetaclax. All blood levels are normal and almost all tumors are gone. While they could detect the CLL, it could not be measured. Very positive signs at this point. I’m hoping that by December I can discontinue all drugs.
Would love to have those 3 meds - hope all goes well. I am about 2 weeks in on Obinutuzinab and Imbruvica - ok so far.
