In a way this is a repeat of previous discussions on travel insurance, however with a specific angle. Please respond if you have the specific information or views, I do not wish to open another general discussion.
Does anybody have experience of getting travel insurance while on a clinical trial? Specifically this is a question related to getting travel insurance in the UK.
(Backdrop with my consultant yesterday for a review of my progress as I’m on the Clarity trial and I asked if he would have any objections to me taking a European vacation in March. Subject to anything unexpected he is happy and will write a supporting letter if I need it).

Coincidentally I bought travel insurance yesterday to go to Prague for 6 days next week. I tried lots of companies and, because I'm having ongoing treatment with Ibrutinib and also in a clinical trial, some of the premiums were £300+!!
However, World First asked the most sensible questions about targeted therapies and trial participation and, subject to me telling the trial people (presumably via my research nurse), were happy to insure me and my partner for £42. The basic premium was £18 approx so the additional was £22 was for my CLL presumably.
I had an annual worldwide insurance (inc USA) policy last year for both of us for £175 with World First and, although I've no experience of claiming, they appear to have a good customer rating.
Yes there is Jackie. Hopefully you’ll catch the Christmas Markets, they’re so atmospheric. It was icy when we went and started to snow as we crossed the Charles Bridge. Needed plenty of hot punch to keep warm! ☺️
I love Prague, visited there last summer right after I was diagnosed. Did not worry about getting sick as we were with my husband's work so his insurance would cover. Have a lovely time. It is a great city, and would love to go back!
