Increasing member awareness of anonymity and privacy

Have you seen a prompt warning you that you may have included a phone number or email address when you go to submit your post/reply? This change is one of several just introduced by HealthUnlocked to protect your privacy. The way to protect your privacy and only share contact information with those you trust is via this site's Private Messaging (Chat) facility:

Earlier this year, HealthUnlocked conducted a survey on anonymity and privacy. They have used the results to identify areas of improvement and ways in which they can educate us on how to remain anonymous and safe while using HealthUnlocked.

The first set of changes resulting from this survey have just been released. These changes include:

- Better information around staying anonymous and posting options

- Automatic scanning posts for possible identifiable information (hence the new warning mentioned above)

- Adding “tips” to several, relevant pages throughout the site
