Does anyone have any recs for nausea as the Cresemba (oral) and iv ambisone are causing extreme nausea? Prescription anti nausea meds are very constipating. I have to be on them for a few months due to a fungal lung infection..

Do you live in a state that has legalized medicinal marijuana? I live in Florida and got my state issued card. I bought low dose TCH vape and only vape for 2 to 3 seconds and immediately takes away the nausea without any euphoria. Works great for me.

I do live in FL but hadn't thought of that. Is it bad for the lungs? How do you get the card and is it expensive

I got my card thru my primary doctor, it cost $225, but there are many doctors that charge much less. It’s not bad for your lungs, I use the vape because it works immediately, the oil under the tongue takes around 45 minutes I use that before bedtime because it lasts longer. Check out this website: cureleaf.com lots of great info, I bought my supply from them they have dispensaries all over the state and also a list of doctors that could do the paperwork for you. I only use it when I have nausea so it lasts a long time with just 2 to 3 second puff and the oil I use around 20 drops half hour before bedtime and it helps me sleep also. I highly recommend it.

LadyDi if you do twitter you can find Renee under Grow In Peace. She has tried every single method, made me learn how to make every single type of extract....used a vape, used a this, used a that....and she went back to the hippie method of a glass pipe.

She had a nice Facebook group but they closed all the Marijuana groups down recently...talk about censorship...sheeesh.

She smokes most days...but has no coughing like a smoker....and for her it is a miracle drug.

Renee has the advantage of knowing her source. Be very careful about smoking, especially with a weakened immune system. Infections, usually fungal, can be a serious problem if you get contaminated product.

I'm out to find CBD oil for my old dog for her bad joints (the bone connecting type) - recommended by two vets (illegal for them to have the conversation - love my vets) but for animals no THC! Did I get the letters right Scott?

in reply to MsLockYourPosts

Yes you got the letters right....and why no THC for animals? Old dog probably be super happy getting stoned. And you are 100% absolutely right about knowing the source... Renee only smokes the stuff we grow....people give her stuff all the time and she won't touch it.

Anyone using ANY MMJ product, be it "flower" (what they call the bud part that is smoked), or an extract, Oil, etc...you must know where it comes from and be certain of the quality.

Animals react differently to THC. Both vets who stuck their necks out to talk to me about this illegally are specialists who I have known for 30 years. I totally trust their input.

in reply to MsLockYourPosts

I can't offer any first hand experience or knowledge...KooKooNut never ate any plants or any of Renee's stuff but many of Renee's friends have told her about their dog or cats getting into their stash and usually it is entertaining....but again, go with what a vet says is 100% right and I have nothing to contradict what you were told.

My dog has enough problems without putting her through anything like that. These are my last days with her. But then I don't find any humor in getting any animal drunk or high on anything, any more than I find it funny to slip something into someone's drink for laughs.

in reply to MsLockYourPosts

No, I was absolutely not suggesting anything like that. I too do not find it funny to tie something to a cats tail or get them drunk or slip something in someone's drink...I find those things horrifying and the worst of human nature....but, a sick dog or cat *might* like mmj I would not ever give them a ton, but I likely would give a small amount and see how it effected them....

Going with my vet, who said that it can be dangerous.

Yes LadyDi

I was going to suggest the exact same thing...little marijuana and your nausea will likely be gone.

I have been dealing with nausea lately as a result of radiation treatment I am currently getting. They gave me prescription anti-nausea drugs. But I don't like them so am just using Gravol (dimenhydrinate), which is Dramamine in US. Gravol makes you sleepy, but I am having success with 1/4 tab. Settles the nausea and no sleepy effect.

Re: cannabis - it doesn't hurt your lungs of you consume it orally as oil, which is a popular form for medical use. I unfortunately cannot tolerate cannabis in any form. Have tried extensively in last 3 years. Otherwise, I would be trying that for the nausea. Good luck!

Kim,

The worst thing...I can't stand MMJ either....I only tried it twice in my early 20's....I been growing the best ever for Renee for 10 years...and I never once dared try it yet....is that messed up or what???

I've tried THC and CBD as oil, suppository, topical application... pretty much everything. It all effects my mind and mood and functionality in ways I unfortunately can't tolerate. Yet many people get so much benefit! Not fair.

in reply to PlanetaryKim

I know....man, I hated the effect the only two times I tried it. Just made me feel too strange...not like myself....and yeah, totally not fair....

I take natural ginger capsules sold at the pharmacy for nausea, which will not cause any drowsiness. However, please ask whether it can be taken with your anti-fungal meds. As suggested, and since you can obtain it legally, cannabis helps a lot of people suffering from nausea due to meds or health conditions. The people who work at the medical cannabis stores are trained to suggest the best way for you to take this, at least where I live, as well as the potency you will require. I hope you find something to help you very soon.

HI, I am also on an anti-fungal but prophylactic having had serious fungal lung infection in the past. Yikes! I feel for you. I swear by an herbal tea called "Calm Stomach" that I get at the local grocery store, it has no caffeine in it so I can take it morning, noon or night. When the tea doesn't cut nausea out, I use medical marijuana.

Thanks...I'll have to check out whole foods store. The Cresemba I'm taking for a fungal lung infection makes me nauseous and the prescription zofran for nausea is making me very constipated

Chop up a little fresh ginger. Add it to your hot tea. Strain ginger after a few minutes in hot tea. Enjoy!

Yea, if your nauseated you may not want the sugar or cream added. But you can try a little bit. I hope it works! I hate being nauseated and vomiting. Been doing this week because of strong antibiotics. I have a staff infection on my face!!

1/2 teaspoon of minced ginger. Pour boiling water over and let sit a few minutes - 1 cup, then strain or you pour a cup of hot tea over and do the same. I’m sure you can find the exact recipe on the internet .
