Not uncommon.. do you know what they are? Canker, Thrush, Herpes etc...? In the U.S. patients report so e success with Magic Mouthwash.

I’ve had the problem since I got the new Imbruvica “pill.” I just found out I can still get the capsule and just received my capsules three days ago. It seems to be better already. The only thing I can see is the change in the inactive ingredients in the pill. Anyway, I hope that’s it.

My oncologist prescribed “high tech” mouthwash which was mixed onsite by the pharmacy according to his specifications. It has both healing and numbing properties.

If you are suffering Difflam oral rinse is very good. Usually needs prescription.

Hi Ann

I use Listerine in the purple bottle and it works fine for mouth ulcers and sores while on Ibrutinib.

My husband was having mouth sores on ibrutinib and was prescribed Acyclovir, which did the trick. Apparently my husband's mouth sores were due to herpes virus.

Thank you. I am going to ask my specialist about swabbing my mouth for bacteria or viruses and discuss mouth washes too.

My husband was reluctant to add another medicine but was very glad he did it.

I know how he feels. You feel overwhelmed with what you are already taking but if it makes life more comfortable I will take it. Thank you once again.

Funny thing about Ibrutinib, you don’t always get all the side effects in the beginning. They can come and go at any time. I got my first mouth sore about 9 months into Ibrutinib treatment. I had been on Acyclovir the whole time. Had a couple two weeks ago, but they only lasted a couple of days. My specialist prescribed the famous Magic Mouthwash and it worked within a couple of days. As stated above, it is compounded in your local pharmacy, must be kept refrigerated and should be discarded after 2 weeks. Good luck!

Oregano oil worked for me and others. 1 drop on your tooth brush then rinse slightly before using since it is so strong,

After a week the issues went away when I was on Imbruvica,

Be well,

Hoffy
