I have SLL, and six weeks ago started a clinical trial at OSU. So far I'm on Acalabrutinib and Obinutuzumab. Start Venetoclax next month. But I'm still very fatigued and getting headaches, so this week I asked OSU to check my thyroid levels. (I already have an underactive thyroid and have been on Synthroid - not the generic - for about five years.) Sure enough, my thyroid is too low. Went to my GP who has bumped up my Synthroid from 100 mcg to 125 mcg. I've only been on the higher does for two days, but we'll see if it helps.
So I want to share is a reminder to have your thyroid levels checked regularly. Whether it's the CLL/SLL or the medications, you may have developed an undetected thyroid issue that your oncologist won't typically look for. Good wishes to all!
