I am not sure what to do. I was told by my hematologist in August that I may be nearing treatment next year. Seeing my CLL specialist in February, will see what he thinks then. I use SilverScript but how do I plan for a "possible treatment" next year with Part D? My blood numbers RBC, hemoglobin, platelets returned to normal 3 weeks ago per my Internist.
I would enter all my current drugs and see what Part D plan was the best.
Then go back and add Ibrutinib (90 capsules for 30 days) and see what was the best plan.
Then also go back and add Venetoclax (120 tablets for 30 days) and see what was the best plan for that combination.
If all three cases had similar results, or one insurer was near the top for all 3, then I would choose that one.

The total annual cost of the Ibrutinib and Venetoclax combo will be scary, but when you actually need it, you should contact the LLS.org for help and advice on copay assistance.
I will do exactly that. I did not know where to begin with the vague possibility and no meds named. Thanks for the guidance. I already get LLS monthly premium help so in their system through Oct 31st.
You possibly also qualify for free drug from whatever company makes your treatment. Contact *them* first, because even if you get copay help, running any drug through the Medicare system, means you likely will hit the donut hole & have to pay a few thousands if you start treatment before the "donut hole goes away" legislation kicks in.
