Two years ago today I began FCR. It was a challenge at times and it was this group that dragged me through it ...sometimes kicking and screaming!
Today I've been busy at work, booked a holiday and feel very grateful for the poison that , so far so good, did a decent job.
My life was turned upside down with a diagnosis of CLL at the age of 49 followed a year later by chemo. My career has now taken a permanent backseat and whilst I still enjoy work it's good to appreciate work life balance.
Things seemed dark for many a month but as a Christian I knew God was in control. Today I feel thankful ... and I just wanted to share our lovely news that our eldest son and his wife are due a baby! Soooooo exciting! Due 23rd December ๐
There's been a lot of personal drama this year but praying for the safe arrival of this baby to end the year.
Don't you think it's good looking already!!!!!

I remember your first post. Look how far youโve come!
I have five grandchildren of my own, itโs just the best thing- even better than your own children. To look into the beautiful face of your baby's baby is a wonderful thing indeed.
WOW! Bethan, that is WONDERFUL NEWS! Is this your first grandchild?
I know how happy I was, to hear that our first grandchild was on the way. Like you, I marvelled over that first scan, and thought what a beautiful blob it was! (We now have 3 grandchildren but there is something special about the first)
Praying with you for the safe arrival of this baby...
Bethan, Iโm so happy for you! Your little grandchild holds the promise and hope of a life with lots to look forward to when they are born
When things are tough it can be hard to believe that things will get better and life can be good again, but it can. Sometimes beyond any of our expectations.
Wow congratulations! I turned 49, had the birth of my first grand baby and diagnosed with CLL all within 4 days this past March. The baby has really helped balance the good and not so good parts of life.
There is a future which is bright.. The clouds do disappear and we have no idea how long the skies will be blu and the sun will shine but enjoy it while it's sunny and no that clouds don't last forever xxxx
Hi Bethan I am doing well thank you. I am on the Flair trial on ibrutinib and rituximab arm. I have had 5 of my 6 infusions of rituximab without any problems and the 6th is due at the end of this month. I have had a few minor side effects on Ibrutinib but all manageable so far. It would be nice to catch up. I am so pleased your treatment has gone well for you.
What wonderful and happy news! Congratulations to all. And because you went through that FCR, you will be there to enjoy that grandbaby and watch him or her grow up! I'm so happy for you!
So happy for your good news! I'm halfway through 6 rounds of FCR and your post is very hopeful for us all. Thank you. Prayers for you and your family and this little one on the way.
