FCR stopped after cycle 5

What joy I was told at haematology clinic on Monday that I would not be having cycle 6 of FCR because there was no need. I had responded well and why put more chemo into me when associated with secondary cancer malignancies. For the past 3 cycles my lympocyctes have been below 0.5. Started at 265. Can't give you the ALC but wbc has hovered slightly below normal but no concern. Neuts fine. Hb falling was the reason to start treatment. It has now been 12/122 for 3 cycles. I'm female in the UK.

He didn't mention any follow up tests. So back on 3 monthly watch and wait and staying healthy. So questions about remission in November at the haematology clinic.

FCR no big deal as I've written before in response but it's so good to finish. Life back to normal with energy. Yippee!

Great news, on cycle 3 myself I am hoping they finish early, for no other reason than get back to my normal life.

As you said the FCR has treated me well, just tiredness and nausea for the treatment week, and as my consultant said “it works”.

So if anybody is worried about FCR, don’t it still remains the gold standard in the UK.
