New HU feature - draw attention of other members to your submissions via In Message Shout-outs (@username)

I can now reveal the major reason for the revamp a week ago in how text is handled when you write a post or reply.  This site now allows you to send a notification to another member in your community by simply typing @ in front of their username.

I hope this makes up for the frustration experienced by Apple mobile device users...

I can see it will be handy to send a notification to a member that infrequently checks the site and for drawing the attention of several members that have replied at different places in one post where you've replied saying something particularly relevant to these members, but don't want to repeat yourself.  Give it a try and see what other uses you can find for this new feature!

:rant on. So, my most annoying itch on the site is the continued advertising of an app.  Seems like it has been 'coming soon' for the last 8-10 months.  If it really is vapourware please ask them to remove the advert.  :rant off.

It would be nice if they fixed some of the other bugs as well, many 2 years old...also clicking on a post in the news feed, should have some visual feedback, so you know that the server has got the link and is opening the thread...

Currently there are no indications...so I often find myself tapping 3-4 times... finally something happens...
