Hi,

Has anyone weaned before 6 months post kasai surgery? My baby is 4 months old and doing well. He is showing signs that I could start weaning him but because of his surgery I’m not sure if I should wean early or not?

Anyone got any advice? Or weaned their babies early post kasai?

Hi there, I would suggest having a chat with your medical team about this particularly a dietician as they will be able to advise you about this as each liver child is different in terms of their liver health. We also have a leaflet that explains nutrition in more detail that you can download here childliverdisease.org/wp-co... Many thanks, Michelle, Head of Services, CLDF
