Biliary Atresia

My daughter had a Kasai procedure a little over a month ago. We noticed today her stool went from bright yellow to pale cream. No temperature, normal appetite and very active. GGT levels fluctuate from 252 to 180 to 352. Could GGT be a factor?

Anybody else have experienced a similar case? Did you require stronger antibiotics or higher Ursodiol medication concentration?

Thanks,

If you are giving formula milk, or cow's milk, dilute the milk and see the response tomorrow ... Concentrated milk also causes pale stool...

Thank you for your response Thomas. I did see my daughter’s stool reverting to bright yellow/green. I also heard back from our GI team saying it may fluctuate.

GGt cannot guide in this case. Watch for stool color, serum bilirubin and signs of infection. No need to upgrade antibiotics if otherwise well..
