biliary atresia
please help
Where do you live?
The kasai should be done as soon as it is diagnosed.
I live in Botswana,It is very frustrating because the doctor said he cannot do the kasai to a baby who is over 8 weeks,he said chances of the operation being successful are between 30-40%

Please read the leaflet.
It covered most of the information.
Hello ,managed to go through the leaflet and it is very informative, the baby is 6 months now, what can be best for her
Are you saying kasai can be done?
My daughter had been diagnosed as Biliary atresia and she had a surgery in UK at 58th day
Just curious as to caused the drs to delay intervention or treatment from 2-6 months? Biliary Atresia is typically found very early as it sounds your baby was diagnosed at 8 weeks but I don’t understand why they have waited 4 months to do a biopsy or discuss other options. Are they forgoing the Kasai procedure and placing your baby on the transplant list?
