Re-doing Kasai

Hi,

My doctors would like to re-do my daughters Kasia operation as her GGT Levels are still rising when they lower the steriods. She was born on 14.10.20 and so we are a little worried. Has any one any experience of re-doing their childs Kasai and what was the outcome? Thanks, Dominic

I have never heard of that. My son is at Boston children’s hospital and they don’t use steroids to help a Kasai and they also don’t redo Kasai’s. My sons Kasai never worked and he is not 9 months And just completed a transplant eval. We are currently in the hospital with a fever getting antibiotics. This journey is very hard. Good luck!

Thanks Vineyard2020 . What did your son's bilirubin and GGT levels, level out to? How is his fever now?

His bilirubin total is 10 direct 8. Usa measures. He is better but it was a very tough week.

MichelleCLDF thanks. I'll update her drug after care later, so people can see her after care here in Asia. Her surgeon has a longitudinal Journal Paper published that I'll link/ attach too.
