It was cancer…. But its now gone…

What a day.

I had the dressing changed over the surgery site, and the surgeon appears. The test results are back…

It was indeed a very rare cancer, and thankfully, it is now entirely removed.

I feel like I've dodged a bullet…

Everything has gone onto hold for today, but I’ve been lucky to realise that when I actually had a cancer, I didn’t know, and now I know what it was, it is gone and no more…..

I think I will be in protective bubble wrap for a while, just to make sure no other tumours form, but……

And wierdly feeling better than ever.

But today and going through that news was an experience…..

best wishes to all.

Thanks steve!

No, we didnt know what to say either. We started with “oh flip” before it dawned on us that it was cancer, but is now gone. I had to check that a couple of times…

These days can be hard, so just enjoying the peace and a quiet beer. Then tomorrow we will see if i can find the gumption to do some work…. My head wants to, but today has been like 10 straight goes on Nemesis at Alton Towers…. More snake twists, turns and general upside down than you can shake a stick at…..

thanks ever so! Yes its been a lot, but there are so many others also going through a lot too! Never hurts to remember you never walk alone, though it can be tricky to remember that at times. Better times ahead now, and into holiday planning again. Well, why not?!!

Wow CB that was a long stressful week for you, to find out you have a rare cancer is so scary but then to also find out it is now completely gone is such a whirlwind of emotions 😔. Delighted to hear that it is completely gone, but you make sure to take sometime out now for you and Mrs CB, as you have being through so much lately 🌹, that you deserve to pamper yourselves 💗☺️! Have a lovely weekend ☺️💞!!!!

Already started with a Bacon sandwich, and right back into work 🤣.....Need to keep my brain working....

It is funny. we'd really not noticed the sizable effect this tumour had been having for the last year; as the GP pointed out, it probably crept up on me. but when it is suddenly gone, I have more energy, I'm eating better, sleeping better, just looking better!

Just thrilled the outcome. Yes, yesterday's news was a shock, but in does in a way explain things.

As you sometimes quote music references Cb and now Alton Towers too ... 'life is a rollercoaster' ... and sometimes we have no choice but 'to ride it'. Very good to read it's a positive outcome from surgery for you and that you're feeling brighter generally too. Take care 👍

Wow, that's a bit of a roller-coaster for you, getting that news... I'm so glad the op is over and it's gone now, but it's still a lot to process! All the best for your recovery... Take care 😊

Yo my man! Glad to hear you're back on the building and that your then-yet-unknown crab friend is out now and hopefully staying out...and even more than glad you're back shiny and spiffy!! I'm trying to cut down on beer, but you're giving me a perfect excuse to break the drought my friend 😆.

Cheers, Man!!

everything in moderation, surely?!

A little of what you fancy does you no harm!!

Surely my man! Actually, it's kind of cold outside so I'd rather have some hot tea, but yeah it's on you!

Circuitbreaker profile image

yeah…. Tea is good.

The tea i had in hospital was proper good. I had trouble eating because of the vent pipe they needed in throat during the procedure which gave me a seriously sore throat, but the tea was as sweet as anything!

Ditto what everyone else is saying CB, and probably just as well you didn't know it was cancerous as it would have been an extra burden. But you're out the other side now YAY! Take your time to heal, be kind to yourself and your body. The future is bright :o) x

so touched and grateful for all the amazing messages from just the best people.

Its been a very long year of testing, and I’m sure that we are not done yet. Ive tried to journal partly for my benefit, so I could see how far I came, but i also hoped it may be some comfort to others in the same boat!

Returned to the office today. Very emotional. Couldnt manage quite a whole day but nearly, and seeing colleagues has given me such a lift.

STILL havent figured out not to push it too hard!🤣
