Rosacea most of my life

Just wondering if anyone else has rosacea, had it as a baby then about 10/11 years old it came back along with acne, acne has now mostly gone thanks to antibiotics, but the redness is still there, currently using differ and mavaso cream and on trimethoprim tablets, I honestly hate having rosacea I won't go out without it being covered, or let anyone see my face, just feel like I'll be like this forever, just wish it would clear up so I don't have to spend so much time and money on make up 😭

mirvaso cream is awful stuff. I was prescribed that and decided not to use it after reading reviews online. After what I read I'm surprised it can still be prescribed.

It does seem to help me, but I put it on before bed and it calms my skin most nights some nights it doesn't, I am starting to notice some mornings my skin isn't as red but then later on it'll be red again :( just wish it was red pretty much all the time

I've heard it does work but apparently if you stop using it you face becomes more red than before so then you have to keep using it. That's according to the reviews I read online. I read about forty of them and and I'd say over thirty of them said to not use it. Everyone's skin is different though I suppose.

Oh wow I never even looked at reviews I always seem to react badly to most meds my cheeks are getting better but my nose isn't :(

Hello Emsky, there are definitely others in the community who have rosacea though I'm not sure how often people log in. I can hear the distress you're feeling from having this condition and the expenses you're having to incur because of it. On a positive note, it's good to hear the acne is mostly gone although it's understandable that of course you wish the rosacea would go as well. Changing Faces is not a medical organisation, so we can't comment on medication, but if you like to talk to somebody or perhaps access counselling support do call us on 0300 012 0275. We also have a skin camouflage service that may be able to assist with your makeup concerns. If you're not UK-based you can still access our self-help material at changingfaces.org.uk/advice...

Take care,

Dola

Hi Emsky, I have also been suffering from Rosacea for many years. I find that my prescribed creams (Mirvaso and Soolantra) have not really worked for me. The Mirvaso I don’t use anymore, as I find it makes my symptoms worse.

Mirvaso made me worse too, and soolantra makes you worse before you get better I've heard most people need to use it for 4 months to see a difference, going to ask for it at my next appointment
